New guild and alliance system concept
We want to create conditions where the guild owning the castle does not benefit from having a huge guild, and not to limit all other guilds at the same time. And if one guild has managed to own the castle for a few weeks in a row, that wouldn't mean that they are a little stronger or more lucky, but that they are a lot more powerful than everyone else and deserve to hold the crown.
Our current limited member amount guild system fixed problems with artificially created, dead guilds on our older servers but created new problems on the newer servers. The most hardcore players tend to create small but very efficient and skilled guilds with known players and don't accept players from the outside. The more casuals players cannot really fight with these guilds, since there is no chance to take them with numbers. They also cannot join the stronger guilds, because they are usually already full. With this, these non-hardcore players are often left out of sieges and other biggest events.
Our main goal is to not let top players sit in the castle for too long just because they have recruited a lot of top players or "dead" players with high achievements just for the buff. So setting a limit on the number of people in a guild is not the solution. More than that, usually the casual players actually suffer from this limitation, because they cannot make guilds as big as they want to and cannot make alliances with other more casual guilds in order to just peacefully do guild quests and attend all the major events.

Guild Debuff

We want to create conditions where the guild owning the castle does not benefit from having a huge guild, and not to limit all other guilds at the same time. And if one guild has managed to own the castle for a few weeks in a row, that wouldn't mean that they are a little stronger or more lucky, but that they are a lot more powerful than everyone else and deserve to hold the crown.

The new system:

  • In case the guild that owns the castle successfully defends the castle, the attackers on the next siege get a buff 8% Damage, +4% Absorb, +200 True Damage, +3000 HP. If the last statue was destroyed during the siege, the power of the buff will double. This buff increases with each siege when the defenders are successful. The buff is reset to 0 if the castle changes owners.
  • If the amount of members of the guild that owns the castle is higher than set certain (20/25), then their buff is decreased judged by how many people they exceed the limit.

For regular guild masters:

  • 31 and more: -30% buff
  • 26 and more: -20% buff
  • 21 and more: -10% buff

For Dark Lords:

  • 36 and more: -20% buff
  • 31 and more: -15% buff
  • 26 and more: -10% buff
