Updated Castle Siege concept
Updated Castle Siege concept
How can we make sieges more engaging, encourage more players to participate, and create conditions where the same guild can't hold a castle for too long?
Guild Limits: 35/40 | Free Alliance Creation: No | Siege Buff: Yes Automatic registration for the siege of the top 3 guilds by rating.
First Siege (after the server opens)
- Standard
- 3 attacking guilds without alliances
First Defense
- Standard
- 3 attacking guilds without alliances
After 1 Successful Defense
- The castle becomes neutral at the start of the siege, and all participants start as attackers.
- 2 attacking guilds and 1 defending guild (also attacking) without alliances.
After 2 Successful Defenses (if the guild that previously owned the castle wins again during a neutral castle siege)
- 1 attacking guild (top 1 guild by rating) + 1 guild (from the top 10) in alliance.
After 3 Successful Defenses
- 1 attacking guild (top 1 guild by rating) + 2 guilds (from the top 10) in alliance.
Explanations:
Neutral Castle during a siege: Just before the siege, the castle becomes neutral, much like the first siege of a new server. The defending guild automatically joins the attackers.
Alliance - In normal mode, alliances cannot be formed. However, if the guild that owns the castle successfully defends it twice in a row, the top 1 guild in the siege will have the opportunity to form an alliance. The alliance can be formed with any guild. After three successful defenses, the guild can take one additional guild into the alliance.
At 22:00 on Saturday, the top 1 guild can form alliances. At 12:00 on Sunday, automatic registration for the siege begins. If the guild has not formed an alliance by this time, one of the top 10 guilds will be assigned to join the siege in an alliance. Therefore, it is in your best interest to learn how to form military alliances.
At 12:00 on Saturday:
- If it is the first defense after a change of ownership and the castle is owned by 3 guilds in an alliance, the weakest guild will be removed from the alliance (if there are only 2 guilds, the alliance remains intact). This means the castle can be defended in an alliance for the first time, and the alliance guild will receive an additional week of ownership of the castle.
- If it is the second defense, the alliance of the guild owning the castle is automatically dissolved. A guild cannot defend a castle in an alliance more than once.
In other words, if you captured a castle with an alliance, the first defense can be carried out by the two guilds of the alliance.
At 23:00 on Sunday, the alliance is automatically dissolved for guilds that failed to capture the castle.
Alliances are now only used for castle sieges. In normal mode, you will not be able to form an alliance unless you own a castle.
To Summarize:
We have 3 types of sieges:
- Standard, where 3 guilds attack and one defends.
- Neutral Castle, where the defenders start as attackers.
- Alliance Attack, where the top guild gets the opportunity to attack with allies.
The main idea behind the alliance attack is that there is only one attacking side, eliminating competition for castle switches. This ensures the most promising guild has the best conditions for the battle. Additionally, automatic registration by rating reduces the possibility of fake "dummy" guilds participating.
This system applies to all our servers.
Short Version:
If no one has managed to take the castle from the owners, we will conduct one siege with a neutral castle. If the castle is still not captured, we give the top guild an alliance and send them into the siege with only one attacking side, ensuring no interference with castle switches.
